Sexual abuse: Let’s not be silent
Sexual abuse is often a topic that is taboo, a subject rarely spoken about in Muslim families or Muslim communities however the sad reality is that any child from any community/faith or none can become a victim of sexual abuse. If we are to protect our children we need to stop the denial, discuss sexual abuse and how to keep safe. Victims need to feel supported so that they are able to disclose without fear of being judged or blamed and stop perpetrators from reoffending and get justice.
