Misha MonaghanMuslim Institute
Misha is Project Manager at the Muslim Institute where she has worked since completing her Masters by Research from Royal Holloway in Politics and International Relations, with a focus on Islamic and West Asian studies. Her research was the culmination of years of interest in issues surrounding Islam in Britain and for this work she chose to study the misconceptions that surround the interaction of Salafi and Shia groups in the United Kingdom.

This talk will attempt to show that to view this relationship solely from the perspective of a new version of sectarian rivalry in Muslim communities ignores the myriad of influences and how each influential factor is highly nuanced.
